Dinner for two ladies

Dammit i miss the food at Bangkok! Dammit i miss REAL FOOD!

I’ve been deprived from real food for two weeks already! Oh wait, make that three. I’ve been having nothing but soup noodles since i fell sick and it should be obvious that i’m bored of it already. A lot of food are off limits to me cause this nasty cough won’t go away. But the good news is that it’s making progress, slowly but surely.

I want a lot of stuff. I want McDonald’s, nasi lemak, bak ku teh, KFC, chicken mushroom pie, Carls Jr, McDonalds, sashimi, tempura, french fries, McDonalds, Coca-cola, KFC, Nandos, ikan bakar, McDonalds, taiwan sausage, cendol, and cake.

I swear that when i get well, no one can stop me from eating before bed time. Cause i wanna!

OKAY BANGKOK.

During our first night, we wanted to try something different for dinner. So we took a walk down to Central to see what’s there to eat.

Along the way to Central, there were a couple of hawker stalls by the street. Each stall served pretty much the same thing. Their concept was like “dai ciao”. We also guessed that their specialty was fish.

We were a bit worried at first bout communicating while ordering, but fortunately they gave us menus when we sat down at the table. Since it was just me and my sister, we ordered two dishes, a bowl of tom yum soup, and rice. We’re not very big eaters so we went minimal.

Very awesome

The fish was very fresh and tender. Not very bony either. The skin however is tough and salty. So don’t bother trying the fish skin unless you’re into that salty stuff, eeee..

The barbeque beef on the other hand, is pretty much like our char siew back home. The tom yum.. well, taste like ordinary tom yum to me.. except spicier. However, the serving was so big that we didn’t get to finish it. What a waste.

The bill was alright.  A little more than 200 baht for two persons. BUT!! That was before they added the tom yum soup into the bill, cause they forgot. Buggers.

The ACTUAL bill was about 400 baht. That crazy bowl of tom yum costs 150 baht!

Next time, screw the idea of wanting to taste authentic tom yum at Thailand. Almost everything here is spicy, so might as well save your ass from too much spice.
