Clappity Sundays #68

Whoa i almost forgot bout this one.
A couple weeks back, the superstardj had invites for Heineken’s Green Room so lucky me got to leech on his invitation. Excellent.. i can get used to this. Oh yes..

Anyway!
At first i was a little bit clueless bout the event cause i never heard of 2 many DJs before. They sound so foreign to me. Why the big hoohaa?
So after reading up some info at the Facebook event page, i found out that they’re the ones who made the ever so popular remix of MGMT’s Kids! That Soulwax remix that always gets the crowd hyped up in Barsonic.
Then i was interested. I was looking forward to hear them play in the flesh!

That place was happening that night! It was pretty much crowded with people and Heineken bottles every where. I saw a few familiar faces here and there too.
So, 2 many DJs. Their visuals were the focus of the night rather than the DJs themselves. I only took the time to look at them when they first appeared on stage and it was back to staring at the screen behind them for the rest of their set.

Their visuals were sooo interesting! They had animated album art versions of all the tracks they played. It was visually stimulating but i have to admit that their music selection was just so so.
Maybe because the songs they played were quite old school. I’m a young punk! I like Britney Spears and stuff! Roar!
But it was nice to see him jumping around getting all hyped up like a little boy. I couldn’t help but to laugh at him, heehee! *secretly points*
I liked it better when it was Lapsap’s turn. More familiar music to layan to. But unfortunately the beer ran out by then. You know what happens when the alcohol runs out, right..

More pictures after the jump! :)

1 of 2 many DJs.. in a tux!

Wooo! *waving arms around*

Inside joke with Tracy *ahem*

Showing the main product of the night. That’s Kok Wing :o
Now i’m looking forward to Saturday night, whoop whoop! :)

This one is gonna be for the ladiesss..
My mum is the kind of person who doesn’t deliver her advices in the most graceful way, but i gotta admit that i kinda like it that way cause she gives some pretty damn good advices in her own honest (and sometimes awkward) ways.
I will always remember the things she said. Not only because she repeats them almost everyday, but also because the things she says are important and true. I even started practicing some of them.
One of her advices that i’ve started practicing is going for facials. My mum said i should invest on going for facials at least once every month to maintain my complexion and youth when i get older.
Mummy knows best!
Actually, i should have started doing facials regularly a long time ago but it’s still not too late to start now. I’ll be joining the 2club this year anyway, so.. IT’S TIME! Time to get serious!
I’m really glad that i went to the facial spa that Cai Jin recommended early this month. I learnt so much from there while having my facial.
After my session at Cellnique, i semangat wanna start taking care of my skin seriously. So every day and night i’ll apply my facial products without fail no matter how lazy or drunk TIRED i am.

One thing i learnt from Cellnique is that using a facial wash that is meant for acne doesn’t necessarily mean that it will stop acne from popping out. Having one or two pimples doesn’t mean you have to start using an acne facial wash for the rest of your life.
So i’ve been doing it wrong!
This Blue Herbal Gel Cleanser from Kiehl’s that i’m currently using is actually more suitable for oily and pimple-prone skin.
My skin is the sensitive type with a combination of dry and oily (T-zone area) skin so using this is not exactly suitable for me as a cleaner that’s suited for combination skin would be better for me.
Using a facial cleaner that’s not suitable for your skin can cause it to become more dry and that’s when your skin start secreting more sebum. Therefore, more pimples!
So to counter this, we need apply moisturizer. Or just find a more suitable cleanser that doesn’t dry out the skin too much. I’d prefer a more suitable cleanser for better results.

Facial scrub is very important and it should be done at least once or twice a week. It gets rid of the dead skin cells, blackheads, whiteheads and what nots.
I remain loyal to St. Ives apricot scrub. I’ve been using it for years! The results are glorious when it’s combined with..

Cellnique’s Skin Action Sebum Gel. I got this for RM 159 from the facial spa with no regrets cause of the results it brings.
It’s a gel that reduces oil secretion, blackheads and whiteheads. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks already and my T-zone is not as congested and rough as before. Smooth, in fact!
An advice from Cai Jin, the gel must be applied consistently or else the congestion will come back. Lagi semangat apply this!

After applying the sebum gel, moisturizer is a must. I got back to using the one i got from Kiehl’s. It’s not so bad now. Best thing i love bout this moisturizer is that it doesn’t leave an oily sticky feeling. Fresh!
And i know i skipped the toner. My bad.. must start using toner, ugh!

Hmm.. eye cream.
I can’t say much about the results cause i don’t really see the results on myself. I apply it every night and i try to apply it during the day too. But i always stay up late facing the TV screen and PC monitor, how to improve like that?
Instead i saw improvements on the boyfriend instead so.. i guess it’s good. And i suppose it does reduce the puffiness hmm..

Ah the Shu Uemura base that i quite love. It’s a must whenever i plan to put make up on.
It evens out the skin tone and minimizes the appearance of pores. And it’s amazing how long this little bottle can last cause you only need a small portion (20 cent size or less) for the whole face.

This one here is an additional one.
Sometimes i’ll use it to freshen up my face or set my make up. However it takes skill to spray it on - not too near, not too far.
So that’s it for now. I’ll come back to this topic again if i have anything newww..

I’ve been saying that since last year. Yoga my ass. I brought my PS2 back to life and the only exercise i’ll be doing is finger exercise! Eh but seriously, is anyone up for yoga? :o

I got an invitation from Jen a couple of weeks ago to go take a look at Craft Brews along with a few others. Since there’s gonna be beer and pork ribs involved in that little gathering, i figured why not?
It was a Friday and the king and i were running late for the function cause we got stuck in the horrible after-work traffic. Great.
We were in the car for about an hour plus. I was anxious about running late. He was tired from working all day. We were frustrated from all the traffic and worst of all, we were hungry.

Fortunately, Craft Brews wasn’t that hard to locate. It’s located after Ikano on your right, and Tesco on your left. And that’s according to what everyone else is saying.. which is CORRECT.
It’s just that all i remembered seeing was Burger King on the left and then Craft Brews on my right. Must have been too hungry.. AIYA IT’S THE SAME LAH!
Anyway, parking was an ease. And it’s a damn good thing for hungry people like us.
Thank goodness for good friends like Kel Li and Nigel to save us some seats and food. After registering at the entrance, i stepped into Craft Brews with a place to seat and food waiting for me :)
Gotta admit it’s quite our typical Malaysian style to “chop” some stuff first but okay whatever.

Czech Pilsner, Monster Green Lager, English Ale and Weizen Wheat Beer
Yes, they all look so nice and vibrant. And hopefully i got the beer names in correct order too. However, i was too occupied with the food to even focus on the details.
What am i eating? *omnomnom*
Eh this thing is spicy and i’m still having a sore throat.. don’t care! *omnomnom*
And ohhh.. coloured beer! *OMNOMNOM*

Fail.. fail..
BUT! I managed to knick some info off some other blogs, of course. Ahem, like Kel Li’s and Nigel’s *cough*
There’s the Honey Mustard Pork Ribs, the spicy Tex Mex Ribs and the Caramelized Roast Pork. Honestly, i’m not too sure bout which is which myself but they were all very nice. They even sound nice.
I told king that we have to come back here when my throat gets better cause i want to have more of their food!

Sorry i didn’t get your name

Bacon!
We then had a session which was hosted by Sorry i didn’t get your name, who taught us how to bring out the taste of the beer with certain types of food. We were given some bacon and brownies samples to go with the Green Monster Lager.
I was clueless at first. I examined the food sample that waiters gave us as the host introduced himself. Obviously, i wasn’t paying attention. Oblivious!
Once i heard someone said that it was bacon, i popped it straight into my mouth.. and ate it. That’s when i heard that we were suppose to take A BITE of the bacon and drink the beer along with it -_-
Then i started hunting for another bacon piece (which was Kel Li’s). AHA!
Some fun and games after while the rest of us who didn’t take part exchange conversations. And took pictures.

With my mini takos :)

This could’ve been The Last Supper
When the function was over, we decided to stay at Craft Brews to spend the remaining of our Friday night while the rest slowly left the place.
I had a half pint of Hoegaarden and then i stuck with water after that. Stupid sore throat. But of course, a must have picture with the big ass one.

*grins* :3
Craft Brews is a nice place to chill at. Awesome food and a wide selection of great beers to go with it, decent music, and free wifi. That’s pretty much a whole package :)
Awesome pictures by Nigel. Love from Craft Brews.

I really grew a liking for this mix. It has some familiar songs and it sets me in the mood for some dancing. More info here and you can download it from here :)
