I was just doing some surf shopping and suddenly it reminded me of them. And btw, that picture is wayyy outdated. I guess now is the perfect time to post them since i have a story to go along with the pictures :D

You see, Jen is the woman to talk to when it comes to savvy shopping. Bazaars and online sprees, she’s got it. From what i know, she’s always buying things here and there for a really good deal. She’s also the goddess of product research *eggsellent*

And she’s got loadsss of stuff. She even has more makeup than me, confirm!

This is her lipbalm.

Cat pee? Seriously?

LOL! No it was just a funny name for some flavoured lipbalm, which i forgot what flavour.

Okay anyway. Moving on to Kel Li, she’s sort of like the investing type. She only spends on something that she thinks is worth the price.

Me, i’m in the middle. I do shop online once in a while, and i’d be willing to splurge on something that i think is worth it. Be it from online or a retail store.

And so coincidentally we’re seated at the right order in that picture, LOL!

I’ve heard many times from Kel Li before about Jen buying makeup online, “If Jen saves up the money she uses to buy all those little little things, she could’ve gotten herself something nice from MAC or something!”.

Yep. I gotta agree to what she’s saying in a way. Think about it.

If you buy.. say 5 cheap earrings from a pasar malam or some place for RM 10, and they end up rusting or something like that, you might as well be better off spending that RM 10 plus some additional RMs on a nice pair of earrings from Diva or something.

This is something i personally experienced, though i haven’t bought accessories from the pasar malam for agesss (besides hair ties and stuff). I’d rather invest on a good pair from Forever 21 or Miss Selfridge/Topshop. They have pretty decent accessories that last quite long.

I have a couple of studs from Forever 21 and Miss Selfridge (recently bought) and i love them to death. I even splurged on a pair from Aldo; LOVE!

So that’s Kel Li’s point.

And then there’s Jen.

I swear, she’s the (good) devil.

I never been so.. drawn before. This Jen is good in enticing people, very very dangerous.

I still remember the day i saw her newly arrived makeup stash from the US. It came in a big brown paperbag with all kinds of stuff inside. I was like

What’s even worst is that she showed me the brushes she bought for only $1 and it’s super soft! ONE DOLLAR!! US dollar, of course. STILL!!

Then she told me about the reviews she read on how all these US brands like NYX and E.L.F can match up to M.A.C and all. It’s like crazy, i tell you. The reviews on the E.L.F brushes are saying things like it’s way better than the ones from M.A.C and they’re like a lot cheaper.

The E.L.F studio brushes sell for $3, which is like RM 10 (direct convert without taxes and etc). And a M.A.C brush is like what, about 100+?

Why not?!

On that night itself i’ve decided that.. i.. WANT *bangs table* these goodies!

So yeah, M.A.C’s ain’t all that after all. Though i’d still stick to M.A.C for certain products, i’m willing to try other brands out as well. Especially E.L.F brushes. I ordered a bunch and i’m dying to receive them.

When is it my turn to hug my own overseas goodies? :(
