Mea Cuppa
Today, i had the pleasure of chaperoning Hoongmao to the official opening of Mea Cuppa at Artemis Art, Solaris Dutamas.

Mea Cuppa features coffee-inspired artworks by 15 local artists. It makes me proud to say that one of those artists is Hoong.
About a month ago, he took part in an art jamming session that was hosted by Nescafe that was part of their product launch for Genio, one of Dolce Gusto’s latest products. During this art jamming session, the artists expressed their own interpretations of the theme, which was “Coffee is not just black”.

I remember paying Hoongmao a visit during the art jamming session. He was really nervous and intimidated by all of the other artists around because they were all so experienced and it was just his first time painting on canvas.
Well i would say his painting turned out quite good. It really is not as bad as he thinks. Plus, there was a write up about the event and his painting turned out to be one of the writer’s favourites (^v^)
Give yourself some credit, p!

Mr Owl

It’s different from the others, but that’s what makes it stand out ain’t it.
When i asked him how did he get the idea for this painting, he just said that the coffee machine simply looked like an owl. I just lol-ed, haha!

Hoong and another fellow artist, Skinner

Skinner’s artwork

I’m not sure how long the artworks will be on display at Artemis Art, but i do know that part of the profit gained from the artworks will be proceeded to charity.
So if you’re around Solaris Dutamas with some time to spare, do drop by the art gallery and take a look at the other artworks :)
