There’s An App For That! – MrLens

You know how Apple advertises that there’s an app for everything?

Well, recently i found out that there’s an app for you to buy contact lenses! It’s amazing how technology has advanced. As if ordering and purchasing things online wasn’t easy and convenient enough, now we can do it on our phones too!

IMG_2512a

MrLens is actually the largest online contact lens reseller in Switzerland and major parts in Europe like Germany and France. Now, Malaysia is also part of MrLens!

MrLens has released an app that allows customers to order and purchase their contact lenses through their smartphones. The app is available for Apple and Android users and it costs nothing – it’s free!

IMG_2512b
MrLens MY has a wide variety of contact lenses from normal ones to coloured and even for astigmatism. Basically, MrLens keeps a full inventory of all major brands that we know.

The cost of the contact lenses is the same as buying it from the optical shop

The best part about ordering and purchasing your contact lenses through MrLens is you’ll get to receive them the very next day! Plus, there’s no delivery charges for areas within Klang Valley. It’s free. All you need to pay for are your contact lenses. Speaking of payment, it’s very easy to do through the MrLens app as well. If you’ve bought movie tickets using the GSC app, well, it’s exactly like that!

To be honest, i’m very impressed with this app. It’s very straight-forward and easy to use. And i’m even more impressed with the service and reliability.

If you’re a contact lens user like myself, you should definitely download this app. I’m sure you would appreciate an app like this :)

My Hearty

So i’m pretty much done with my Chinese New Year shopping. I personally shop all year round as long as my bank account allows me to so CNY shopping isn’t such a big deal for me. But when your mum offers to endorse your CNY shopping, you just take up that offer without thinking twice.

Thinking back on my spendings and harvests, i always seem to be buying clothes and sometimes panties on my own, but never bras. Honestly i can’t remember when was the last time i went bra shopping.

Bra shopping was like a sacred thing that i did together with my mum and sister. The three of us would go to a departmental store like Parkson and Jusco together and try on whatever bras that we liked regardless of brands.

IMG_1825

Anyway, i guess it’s time to be a big girl and get some bras on my own. Besides, i could use some new bras. So a couple of weeks ago, i went to Parkson to do a little bra browsing and i saw that sloggi has just launched their Valentine’s Day collection called My Hearty.

And i thought to myself, “This will be like killing two birds with one stone. CNY and Valentine’s Day undies!”

Come to think of it, have you ever bought a pair of really cute underwear but it ends up being really uncomfortable? The discomfort is doing a really good job at annoying you at all the right places (boobies, butt crack and whatnots) all day long but you still stick with it because it looks nice.

Well, i have encountered such problems before and frankly, i don’t even bother with “sassy lingerie” anymore because it’s hard to find ones that a sassy and comfortable at the same time. Poor Hoong, LOL.

Fortunately for us, sloggi offers us the best of both worlds. The new My Hearty collection has really cute bras that comes with comfort and support (if you know what i mean) that all the required places need. I’ve always thought of sloggi as the ultimate brand for comfortable bras and i was proven right when i tried them on.

IMG_1822

The My Hearty collection highlights a few bra series.

First, it’s the Delicate series.

This collection is covered with lace and has rhinestones for accessories, which gives it a very feminine appeal. To make it even sexier, it comes in red and black.

This bra also comes with molded pads that give the ultimate push-up while the bra remains super light, soft and comfortable.

IMG_1834

Second, it’s the Invisible Sense series.

This series caught my attention the most because the bra is 100% made in Italy using an ultra light and extra fine sensitive fabric, which allows the bra to hug the body (or should i say, boobies) almost like a second skin.

I was also told that the sensitive fabric used in this bra is eco-friendly as well. The production of this fabric uses less water and energy and with each meter of this fabric sold, a percentage of earnings will be donated for rainforest protection. It’s nice to know that you’re saving the earth just by doing something so simple like wearing a bra, isn’t it? :D

This series comes in sweeter colours such as baby pink, mint, beige and also black.

As for myself, i ended up with these two babies along with matching panties.

NakedKimchi

In a couple of weeks, my time in tertiary education will come to an end. I will be entering a new cycle in life and soon i will have to face all the challenges of being an adult. It’s something we all have to go through.

There’s also something else that i noticed. I noticed a change in my preference, especially when it comes to clothes, and there’s a strong urge in me that really wants to change my entire wardrobe. But we all know that changing an entire wardrobe just like that is not easy.

Shopping for clothes is like a love/hate relationship. If you can find the perfect piece, then you’re in love. But don’t you just hate it when they’re out of sizes or it’s just too expensive?

Shoulder Opener Sheling Blouse

Recently i’ve found NakedKimchi, a South Korean clothing company based in Malaysia. NakedKimchi offers various clothing from boutiques and brands all over South Korea.

The thing that sets NakedKimchi apart is that orders that are placed here will be flown direct from South Korea itself.  Stuff from NakedKimchi are like buns that are fresh from the oven because the website is often updated with new products and trends from Seoul.

Water Dyed Pastel Skinny

NakedKimchi only offers the latest. It’s like sharing the same shelf and hangers as the boutiques in South Korea. Whatever they’re getting over there, we can get it over here as well.

And if it’s sold out there, it’s sold out here at NakedKimchi as well.

Mini Gold Jacket

Each product in NakedKimchi is well-pictured – by being worn by a model or hung on a hanger. The pictures also include front and back views of the product.

Not only that, each product page has detailed measurements of the product itself.

Alto Heels

Sweet Strawberry Dotted Flats

Currently, NakedKimchi is offering a Members Sale until 7th June 2012.

All existing members of NakedKimchi will be able to enjoy a 15% discount on all products. New members who joined on the 1st to 7th June will receive a 10% discount (please click here to find out how to use the discount coupon).

So i urge all of you to hurry on and register as a member of NakedKimchi and start shopping right now!

Front Pocket Clutch

I’ve already spotted a few items that i like and i can’t wait to add them to my shopping cart! :D

Introduction to Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest

Hot damn!

You know what, i’m starting to think that October is the month to be. Not only it’s my birthday month (ahem) but it’s also the time of Oktoberfest!

To be honest with you, about two weeks ago i was set on cutting off beer completely. I didn’t care what was gonna be my next casual drink. It could be anything from hard liquor to pussy cocktails, as long as it’s not beer. But when i heard that there was gonna be Oktoberfest, i knew it was the end of me.

.. True story.

Well, this year Carlsberg Malaysia has teamed up with a few other German brews to give us a chance to experience the real Oktoberfest by creating Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest. It’s a month long affair of beer, food, and music starting from 21st September till 20th October 2011 at over 25 participating outlets and 18 market squares throughout Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Seremban and Johor.

Think Oktoberfest beer girls with huge ass beer mugs.

Yes, i approve.

I never thought i’d be a beer person. However judging from my consumption and occasional cravings, i guess i am. And if you think you’re not, i reckon you should try some of the beers at Oktoberfest.

Carlsberg (5% ABV/ alcohol), a lager beer founded by J.C. Jacobsen in 1847 and is an international beer originating from Denmark.

Erdinger Weissbier (5.3% ABV), pioneered in the 70′s, was the first German wheat to be distributed nationwide in Germany. Erdinger is brewed according to traditional recipes and has no preservatives, additives and pasteurization, complying with the Bavarian Purity Law 1516.

Franziskaner Weissbier (5% ABV), a traditional Bavarian wheat beer with more than 600 years of history, is refreshing and aromatic in character. This Bavarian beer is naturally cloudy and copper-coloured and enhanced with a sweet malt taste with a smooth creamy texture for finish.

Lowenbrau (5.2% ABV), an original “German Munich Beer”, is famous at Oktoberfests. It is a lager beer that is refreshing with a taste of malt and mild hop bitterness. The beer is light to the taste, bright golden yellow in colour, and truly complements the Bavarian drinking experience.

I personally like Franziskaner the best. It’s really smooth and it’s somewhat sweet. Not as bitter as some beers, at least. And yes, it’s pronounced as how it’s spelled.

There’s gonna be a wholesome entertainment at Oktoberfest with all the best elements combined. Plus, you’ll get to experience the signature chicken dance!

If you’re still not convinced, here’s a couple more pictures to entice you ;)

Pictures were taken by Andy Kho

So come on and join the Oktoberfest! There’s still plenty of time and in fact, there’s gonna be one this weekend at One Utama.

You can also stand a chance to win “The Ultimate Beer Tour” which is a 6 days 5 nights trip to Munich, Germany and Copenhagen, Denmark with 2 friends! All you gotta do is participate in the Facebook contest on Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest Facebook page :)

DOVE Chocolates

img_3525

Okay so it’s kinda sad to say that recently i’ve been spending most of my time on trying to study. I really hate studying and i’m sure that most of you share the same sentiment.

When i’m not studying, i most probably will be playing Left 4 Dead 2 on xbox 360 with the panda. A choice between studying graphs and shooting zombies, obviously i’d pick the latter.

To be honest, i’m not very productive during the day. Some how i prefer to study during the night. I study a bit here and there and take long naps during the day, and drill books during the night. But one thing bout studying until late nights is.. the hunger.

I’m bound to get hungry. And that’s when i start going sidetrack. This situation would’ve been different if i had something to munch on.

And what could be a better than chocolates.

img_3527

DOVE chocolates are creamy and smooth, just the way i like it. When i’m studying until past midnight, it’s really comforting to have some chocolates. After all they are comfort food.

DOVE chocolates come in a variety of flavours and it hits the spot for everyone. The available flavours are bound to be someone’s favourite.

img_34811

There’s Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Crispy Chocolate with crispy rice, and Hazelnut, Almond and Raisin Chocolate.

So which one of these is your pick?

I’ll definitely go with the Crispy for now cause i’m in need of some serious munchies.
