Partying with the Dutch
Oh my, it’s amazing how time flies!
It’s the first day of December and i’m presenting you with something that’s dated back in.. OCTOBER! ヾ(@ ゜▽ ゜@) ノ
Sigh.. i guess i really am losing my touch. I kinda wish that i would blog more efficiently but this illness that i’m having is seriously getting to me.
And this illness is called.. laziness.
Anyway, remember i told you guys that there was more to Hoongmao’s birthday? Well, there’s two reasons why we only went for dinner on the day of his actual birthday:
1. It was a weekday
2. He had to work after :(
And besides, we were gonna have a couple of ang mohs down to party with over the weekend!

On Friday 14.10.11, we had a BAXX x PHD party over at Milk Club featuring Thilo & Evanti and Soul-T. I’m guessing that most of you guys probably won’t be familiar with these names unless you’re into the hard dance scene.
But it’s okay, you guys don’t need to know them too well either(^v^)
Anyway, this party was one of the crazier ones that i’ve been to. It was the perfect combination of alcohol, energy and music. Mix them all up together and you get one hell of a night.

Baby’s got it goin’ on with that fab hairstyle, don’t you think?

Ganjaguru. Or as how i’d like to call him, Ningku Chia

Didjital

Charmander! I choose you!

Thilo & Evanti from Netherlands
Well i’m not gonna pretend that i know all about them and what they do, but what i do know is that they’ve played at DefQon 1 back in Netherlands. DefQon 1 is a massive hard dance festival organized by Q-dance. Many would consider it an honour to play at such an event. So that makes Thilo & Evanti.. pretty damn good, right?
Know what, i would really love to experience a true hardstyle rave. A real massive one straight up in the Netherlands. The one like.. QLIMAX! Which is also organized by Q-dance.
Ughhh thinking bout it makes my adrenaline pump. I want it bad enough to be wishing for it on my birthday.
#truestory

Sei guai lou! ( ̄▽ ̄)
But let me tell you this – they’re both real fun to have around.
Thilo is pretty much the hamsap party animal while Evanti (his real name is Vincent) is more of a Good Guy Greg. They both know how to party and they really can drink.
Which reminds me.. i never got to ask Vincent why is his stage name Evanti instead of.. well, Vincent.

Brendan Soul-T

xx
Soul-T is the founder and father of the legendary Pure Hard Dance (PHD) in Melbourne. Enough said.
Oh, and he farts a lot.

I see what you did there..

Don’t you guys just love freebiesss?!

Le FooLu!

Ah Ben vs. Kok “Niekon” Wing
It’s almost tradition to end the night with Ben and Kok Wing in a game of chai wui.
It was a crazy crazy night indeed. Good thing i was in my Converse. We then had our usual nasi lemak for supper next to BV2. Ah.. cherry on top.
FAST FORWARD TO THE NEXT DAY!
It’s somewhat tradition to bring our guests out to Zouk on a Saturday night. Also, everyone seems to be out to get Hoongmao cause of his birthday.
Legend has it, that once upon a time he was able to take down eight flamings and who knows how many bottles of hard liquor, and still emerge from those who have fallen.
Legend has it.

Apparently, Thilo and Vincent LOVE flamings. They kept buying flamings for themselves and we i kept giving them dirty looks cause they loco.

Most wanted for the night

Brendan / KenFoo / Vincent / Ningku / Thilo

And that concludes our party times with our ang moh guests!
I also took the liberty of including a video of Qlimax 2010 just in case any of you are curious on what Qlimax is like. Wouldn’t want you to miss out on the awesomeness anyways :)
Drives me nuts.
Heineken Green Room 051011
Oh blog. I’m so sorry for not having the time to sex you right. Somehow i’m always caught up with things.
It was just last week when i was working hard to complete a deadline on Wednesday. Then after that, a fiesta started and it lasted throughout the whole weekend. Next thing i know, i’m rushing for more deadlines and a test.
Well, just so you know i’ve been editing some pictures from Melbourne here and there during my work breaks. And as you can see i’m also taking the time to post an update right now.
So anyway, last week Hoongmao and i went for the Green Room party by Heineken.

I didn’t know what was going on at Green Room, but i knew i just wanted to have fun after submitting a deadline. Also i think it was the first party at KL Live since its little makeover.
I think i received a blessing in disguised when i wound out that we were getting VIP tickets that night. Perks of being a DJ’s girlfriend huh. Hurhurhur ( ̄▽ ̄)

Which reminds me, the three of us plus Lady Aw had a meme rage going on at the club last week. It resulted in some really funny pictures. You just might get to see it soon enough :D

So what do you get for being VIP?
Nothing really. You just get to go upstairs. And apparently access to cheaper drinks. But honestly sometimes i think that it’s better to be where the crowd’s at, which is downstairs.
Hey, it can be fun. As long as there’s some personal space though.
And oh, kudos to those that found out how to cheat their way to the VIP area with a normal wrist tag. Just flip it over to the inner side and viola, VIP!
The turn out was pretty good too considering the fact that it was a Wednesday night.

Art vs Science

I really enjoyed the set by Art vs Science. They’re such fun to listen to. In fact i enjoyed their set a lot more compared to the last act, which was Gossip. And apparently, Gossip was one of the pioneer indie rock bands. I suppose it’s all bout preference.
I looked them up on YouTube and found a couple of my favourite songs from them. It was tough deciding which one to share, but i decided to go with this one.
You have to watch this cause it’s really entertaining!
Parlez-vous francais?
Oui!
Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest at Ecoba

So last Saturday Hoongmao and i headed to Ecoba for Oktoberfest Bonnie and Clyde style again.
Oktoberfest is a really popular festival in Munich and this time around, Carlsberg Malaysia has brought us Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest throughout Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Seremban and Johor.
What’s awesome about Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest is that it’s a month long affair starting from 21st September to 20th October 2011 that consists of booze, food, and good music.

Various performances for the night

That was one of the games they had for the night. I was quite tempted to try the bull machine but i was simply too shy. However there were a number of people who were brave enough to take on the mechanical bull and it was really entertaining to watch!

Franziskaner x Erdinger
And those were just two of the other beers available in Oktoberfest. The others are:
Carlsberg (5% ABV/ alcohol), a lager beer founded by J.C. Jacobsen in 1847 and is an international beer originating from Denmark.
Erdinger Weissbier (5.3% ABV), pioneered in the 70′s, was the first German wheat to be distributed nationwide in Germany. Erdinger is brewed according to traditional recipes and has no preservatives, additives and pasteurization, complying with the Bavarian Purity Law 1516.
Franziskaner Weissbier (5% ABV), a traditional Bavarian wheat beer with more than 600 years of history, is refreshing and aromatic in character. This Bavarian beer is naturally cloudy and copper-coloured and enhanced with a sweet malt taste with a smooth creamy texture for finish.
Lowenbrau (5.2% ABV), an original “German Munich Beer”, is famous at Oktoberfests. It is a lager beer that is refreshing with a taste of malt and mild hop bitterness. The beer is light to the taste, bright golden yellow in colour, and truly complements the Bavarian drinking experience.

Food there was pretty simple. We had two pastas and two hotdogs. Don’t we just love German sausages!

The Oktoberfest beer girls are really cute, don’t you think? I was actually considering their outfits for Halloween. Those fluffy skirts, white stockings and twin ponytails.. so cute when you’re doing the chicken dance!

There was a little bazaar going on at the side. They had really pretty stuff over there but i was trying really hard to hold back on my spendings :(

Lovely DIY body products by *Bisou* Bonbon

And of course, Ecoba’s legendary 100 beer shots challenge. We have a couple of friends who would totally bag this challenge, but they don’t wanna bother. Meh.. it would’ve been really fun rooting for your own people in this kind of challenge, don’t you think?
Also it was quite an experience to see them Oktoberfest beer girls all lined up performing the Chicken Dance. If you haven’t seen it, you should really check Oktoberfest out.
Well it looks like i can never stop drinking beer cold turkey. Like i said, beer always seem to find its way back into my belly whether i like it or not. So here’s to taking baby steps!
Oh and before i sign off from this post, i’d like to inform you that you can stand a chance to win “The Ultimate Beer Tour” which is a 6 day/ 5 night trip to Munich, Germany and Copenhagen, Denmark with 2 friends. All you gotta do is participate in the Facebook contest on the Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest Facebook page! All the best! :D
Introduction to Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest

Hot damn!
You know what, i’m starting to think that October is the month to be. Not only it’s my birthday month (ahem) but it’s also the time of Oktoberfest!
To be honest with you, about two weeks ago i was set on cutting off beer completely. I didn’t care what was gonna be my next casual drink. It could be anything from hard liquor to pussy cocktails, as long as it’s not beer. But when i heard that there was gonna be Oktoberfest, i knew it was the end of me.
.. True story.

Well, this year Carlsberg Malaysia has teamed up with a few other German brews to give us a chance to experience the real Oktoberfest by creating Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest. It’s a month long affair of beer, food, and music starting from 21st September till 20th October 2011 at over 25 participating outlets and 18 market squares throughout Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Seremban and Johor.
Think Oktoberfest beer girls with huge ass beer mugs.

Yes, i approve.
I never thought i’d be a beer person. However judging from my consumption and occasional cravings, i guess i am. And if you think you’re not, i reckon you should try some of the beers at Oktoberfest.

I personally like Franziskaner the best. It’s really smooth and it’s somewhat sweet. Not as bitter as some beers, at least. And yes, it’s pronounced as how it’s spelled.
There’s gonna be a wholesome entertainment at Oktoberfest with all the best elements combined. Plus, you’ll get to experience the signature chicken dance!
If you’re still not convinced, here’s a couple more pictures to entice you ;)

So come on and join the Oktoberfest! There’s still plenty of time and in fact, there’s gonna be one this weekend at One Utama.
You can also stand a chance to win “The Ultimate Beer Tour” which is a 6 days 5 nights trip to Munich, Germany and Copenhagen, Denmark with 2 friends! All you gotta do is participate in the Facebook contest on Malaysia’s Own Oktoberfest Facebook page :)
Arthur’s Day 230911

The traffic that night was pretty massive. The weak died along the way and the strong made it til the end. As for us, we made it til the end of course.. Bonnie and Clyde style. And although we were pretty late, we still managed to snag some Guinness before the night ended.
I know i told myself that i’m gonna quit beer, but beer always seem to find its way back to me. And who am i to resist. Don’t worry, you’ll find out why soon enough.
All of this is brought to you in the courtesy of MHB :)
Arthur’s Day 2011

The concert is the 3rd annual global Arthur’s Day celebration which will feature Taio Cruz as the headline act. Well surprise, surprise!
I’ve never been to Arthur’s Day before and this year around, it’ll be my first time attending an Arthur’s Day party. It’s gonna be an exclusive invite-only party and the best part is that i’ll be giving away two pairs of passes to two of my most creative readers! :)
Here’s how. All you gotta do is tell me:
1. Where is Guinness originated from?
2. I want to attend Arthur’s Day 2011 because… (in 20 words or less)
Leave me your answers and contact details by dropping me a comment and i will pick two of the best answers by the end of the day!
Edit: Comments are closed, guys! Thanks for joining! I’ll be emailing the winners shortly :)
