I’m really thankful that i managed to score myself that job i sent in my portfolio for bout two weeks ago. I found myself at a studio located some where in Kelana Jaya last Saturday, dressed up as a bride on her wedding day. But she had tears in her eyes.
It wasn’t easy to achieve the wanted expression at first, but i managed to warm up and finally hit the right target towards the end. This one here is completely different from the other shoots i’ve done. A whole 180, even. It used to be all pretty pretty, but this time i had to push the limits. Gotta be daring enough to be ugly.

This was when it was still “pretty”
On the bright side, it’s gonna be massive and a great addition to my portfolio. I’m glad that the clients liked the pictures. And that’s fa kin su pah. We’ll see how it turns out. Keeping it on the down low for now :)

Hopefully tonight’s the night i’m gonna catch the sleep i’ve been missing out on. Been sleeping so late at night and waking up so early in the morning, i don’t think i can keep this up any longer.
I had to force myself to get up at 8 a.m today. It’s such a shame that i can’t stay in bed any longer. Gotta leave the house early just to be safe from the morning traffic, hmpf.
I arrived at the studio early, as usual. The rest came in shortly after.
A couple of weird dresses were involved for this shoot. It was tough adjusting them, but i thought we handled them pretty well.

The shoot went quite smooth, no smiling required.
It was obvious that i was lack of sleep. I was having the sleepy eyes in pictures and i almost fell asleep while having makeup done. I can’t believe myself either.
And i had my nails painted for the shoot. Glam or not, haha. It looks good in pictures, but the colour looks really jeng in real life.

I’m not keeping it. I just can’t.

I did a shoot last week at Blink Studio for Sisters magazine. A guest make up artist flew down from Korea to demonstrate Laneige’s line of cosmetics. I thought that it was quite interesting to hear him speak cause Koreans sometimes sound a little funny. There was a person to translate everything he said so it was all good. It was nice to experience a different style for a change. Korean make up style involves more light and shimmery colours. I like shimmery!

It’s about time that my activites are starting to slow down. My dark circles are getting worst, not to mention this epic zit decided to pay me a visit.. ON MY FACE. Sigh!
I’ve been running about ever since my exams were over. There wasn’t a day when i can spend the whole day bumming at home. What i meant by bumming is just plain ol’ surfing the internet or watching my Desperate Housewives DVD set while pigging out on ice-cream and chips.

Mmmm.. ice cream..
But no! Even when i had the chance to spend the day at home, i’ll be busy working on the domain. Every little single detail of this site.
Apart from working on the site, i had other activities going on too such as..
1. Work
2. Genting with the classmates
3. Work
4. Singapore with the family
5. More work!
Enough to keep me occupied for three full weeks.
Don’t get me wrong, i’m not complaining bout work. In fact i just had two photo shoots back to back last week, phew!
And i did a couple of interesting themes lately. One was like a classic theme for Sisters magazine, three looks for each era. Think 60’s and stuff like those - big hair, vintage dressing, pearls, and thick eyeliner with heavy lashes.
Another was a bridal theme for Feminine magazine which is the latest shoot i did just last week. I acutally got to wear a white gown with flowers in my hair, hehe!

This was taken during the Sisters shoot.
Honestly, that was the worst shoot i’ve done so far. All these while my definition of a bad photo shoot is always got to do with the hairstylist. Hairstylists who can’t perform and deliver well. They handle their model’s hair badly and cannot create the required hairstyle efficiently, and believe me it is very time consuming.
But this shoot took it to a whole new level.
We were dealing with a theme that involved complicated hairstyles, so it was acceptable for the hairstylist to take more time. In fact, he was rather good at what he did.
However, the make up artist was HORRIBLE. They just had to get an amateur make up artist! I could tell because she was from a make up academy and she had her supervisor with her telling her what to do and how to do it. I then realized that i was a test rat for a rookie.
She took the longest time ever to complete one look and her work was shit, sorry to say. The eyeshadow application was bad but she was lucky to have the heavy false lashes to cover up her lousy work.
We took nine fucking hours to complete three looks. NINE HOURS! THREE LOOKS!
I’ve done six looks before in nine hours. I’ve done three looks before in three hours. But that was just absurd!
And she did something SO BAD, i’ll NEVER forgive her for that. I even complained to my agency about it and mamasan said that they’ll boycott any shoot that involves make up artists from that academy.
But i bet none of you could tell judging from the picture, right. Well it’s better off if none of you knew what went on behind the scenes, really.
Sigh!
Anyway, i got all my pictures from iFeel last week but unfortunately they missed out my M.A.C Hello Kitty. I was looking forward to that one though, hmpf.
I’ve added one new picture in the portfolio. It’s dated April 2008, but it’s one of my favourites. It’s even one of the photograper’s wallpaper on his Mac ;)

There was a open launch for Queen magazine at the Sin Chew Daily building last Sunday. Queen is Taiwan-based, so three Taiwan experts were invited to give the audience a demonstration about skin care, make up, and fashion* respectively.
* I’m not too sure with this cause my mind drifted during the briefing.
I played doll for the Taiwanese make up artist, Kevin.
Imagine being watched by all theseee..

People and more.
And these people go crazy for them Taiwanese.
The pressure. I wasn’t quite used to it, but i had to adapt.
It wasn’t that bad. Though the only down side is that i was freezing on stage cause the air condition was directly at me. Dammit.

Good experience :)

Another one for iFeel.
Dark eyes, pale skin. I almost look like a vampire here.
I’m becoming more familiar with the people i work with for iFeel. Think i’m starting to be a regular now :)

In the studio’s freezer - a crabby band!

One of the sweetest crossovers by M.A.C.
The launch is gonna be on March and i can’t wait already. The colours are all very pretty and sweet. Thinking of getting some myself. Mm!
Seems like the M.A.C whore is back.. again. Ah..
Hello Kitty Mild

Hello Kitty Wild

Pictures from Temptalia.
Nice.
I’ve already set my eyes on some of them, hehe.
The colour of some products look different from the swatches on the website. It’s really confusing but it’s best to refer to Temptalia for real pictures of the swatches.

I went to Mid Valley after college to do a product shoot for iFeel magazine. M.A.C Hello Kitty!
Make up was done by Yokoe-chan.
We did one look each for Hello Kitty Mild and Hello Kitty Wild. And i was there from 11.30 am until around 4 pm.
It was quite tiring.
People usually think that doing photoshoots is an easy job. I beg to differ.
We have to sit there for hours just to get our hair and make up done. And when we’re doing multiple looks, we have to walk back and forth from the make up counter to the studio set for touch ups and all.
Yeah getting our face done is fun once in a while. But after having too much of it, it gets tiring.
Open eyes, close eyes, open eyes, half-close eyes, look up, look down

Sometimes the hairstylists don’t give much shit about how much it hurts when they style your hair. Like when pulling your hair back into a pony tail.
They pull your hair back so hard that it stretches your eyes up. They stick in lots of hairpins and sometimes it hurts real bad when the hairpins scrape against your scalp when they are trying to “style fast”.
Not to mention lots of hairspray.
THEN, here comes the photo taking part.
Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s a bitch. Enough said. Oh, and flash photography is really blinding. AND THEY ALWAYS USE FLASH.
After everything is done, i just wanna remove all the make up and clean m
y face when i get home. Relax on my imaginary Osim massage chair, but since i don’t own one i’ll just force someone to massage my back.
And i wish that i have someone to wash my hair for me, cause i’ll be too tired and lazy. But i don’t. Grr..
I guess i should make it clear that i don’t live to do this. I’m just glad that i’m doing this as a part-time thing. Keeps things fun that way.
Oh wow, that was a bucket load of rants. Well, it’s just my two cents. I dunno whether other people go through the same thing, but it’s how i feel.
I still like what i do :)
ANYWAY!

This was for Hello Kitty Mild.
Yokoe put together 2 pairs of lashes into one, making one mad pair of lashes. Not so mild anymore, but still loving them.
And i got to take them home.. again. Hee hee!

This is my second time shooting for Majolica Majorca products. I’m liking their mascaras and glitter eyeliner in brown. I’ll rave about them next time :D
The location was at Blink Studio, KL. It’s one of my favourite studios to work at cause it’s so homey and the people there are nice.

Stalking Eric, the photographer ;)
One of the three looks
From the dirty mirror
Wrapped up at 4 p.m. Got so excited about going home that i forgot about my watch. I accidently left it at the studio :(
Oh well, more reasons for me to head down to KL! I’ve got something that i wanna buy from there anyway :)

Yesterday was the last day for the Beauty Expo in Sunway Pyramid. And it was also the last Shu Uemura demo i did for the Beauty Expo.
Although i do hope that it won’t be my last contribution to Shu Uemura :)
So what i normally do during a demo is..
I just sit there while the make up artist does his or her work!

Make up artist of the day was Lavynya. I personally think that she’s the nicest Shu Uemura staff. I met her for the first time last Sunday for the previous demo. She treated me as though she knew me for a long time. Nice! :)
So if anyone wants to get something from Shu Uemura, go look for Lavynya at the One Utama branch for assistance.
You know how intimidating-looking those people working at cosmetic stores can be, right :x
So the look of the day was called Angelic Glamour. I got my hair sprayed red for this look. Not to mention i had to wear a hairband too, hee :)

The colours don’t really show here but it’s gold and a little bit of turquoise eye shadow from one of the Mika Holiday eyeshadow pallet. Plus mini red false eyelashes.
I kinda like them lashes, but too bad we can’t really wear those on a normal basis.

Last Saturday, Cai Jin and i went on a journey to KL. It was her first time driving to KL but there was nothing to fear cause she had the “best” navigator with her- me! :D
We went to Capsquare to set up a booth at the U.O.X Play to sell off some clothes. Surprisingly, two of us managed to unload all the props from the car to the market place in just one shot.

Both of us couldn’t leave the booth to go walk around the market place until Ernest came. He helped us out by taking care of the booth.
Thanks! :)
The place wasn’t bad at all, in my opinion. Environment was nice and colourful with lots of graffiti around.

It was a long day. But we weren’t totally bored. Cause it’s quite fun to watch all kind of interesting characters and personalities passing by our booth.
Not to mention the unexpected visit from the Lekalino..

Hoi, that’s my chocolate! :)
