Mojo Jojo

Oh my, i can’t believe i left my blog for a whole week after that update last Monday! Now i know it’s probably a norm for me to go missing for long periods of time now. I know, i’m such a horrible blogger.

Why do you still come visit this blog, i don’t know. But i really appreciate the fact that you still do :)

So yeah, i feel horrible for not being able to update last week. I really wanted to (cause i had the mojo) but i couldn’t because i was really swarmed last week. I know i know, EXCUSES! But it’s trueee..

You see, i started working last week. It’s only for a short while though. I’m doing a job for Shu Uemura’s new collection – Mamechiyo for Shu Uemura. Basically we were hopping around shopping malls the whole of last week doing makeup demos, and yours truly was the model ;)

Although it wasn’t exactly tough work, i still had to study cause i had this big finance test that was coming up. And this paper is notorious for failing people, so i was a little stressed out trying to balance out work, study and.. well, play.

Hey i got really caught up with serious time, okay. If i was a Sim, my entertainment bar would be down to red. But if you must know, i studied all week and only took one night off for playtime.

Anyway, i’m happy to announce that it’s all good now! I just did the finance test yesterday and it wasn’t so bad. I just hope that the results won’t turn out to be a troll. Anddd.. my mojo is still around so i’ll be working on some blog posts! ;)

Shu Uemura Christmas Collection Shoot

I know i’m supposed to continue where i left off on my birthday post, but i just had to post this one up first. I was reminded of this shoot i did a couple of weeks ago when i went to Shu Uemura to get my brows done two days ago.

The Shu Uemura Christmas Collection 2010 is already out so i thought i better post this one quickly to share it with you guys. The collection is really nice. I reckon you guys check out the products at the store itself.

So a couple of weeks ago, we had a shoot for Cittabella magazine featuring Shu Uemura’s Christmas Collection. We were going for some sort of party look. It was very different and rather outrageous, but it was just for the fun of it.

Oh the lashes were gorgeous! Although it’s not practical to wear, you gotta admit it looks really pretty. And another product highlight from the collection is the blush tint.

It’s so amazing it’s crazy. I’ve never seen such natural colour when applied on. It’s also very easy to work with. I heard that this tint blush is even smoother and easier to blend than Benefit’s. I would love to have it.

I also got to read the booklet for the collection. It includes all the products from the collection, and also background story and concept of the featured artist for this collection, Aya Takano. You know, all that jazz.

Lisa from Shu Uemura

I didn’t really fancy the hairstyle in the end, to be honest. I thought that it didn’t go with the makeup. But oh wells.

I’ve worked with Lisa a few times before.  She’s the boutique manager of Mid Valley’s Shu Uemura. Since all the previous boutique managers of the Sunway Pyramid and One Utama branch shifted to KLCC, i now go to Lisa to trim my eyebrows.

I prefer trusting my brows over to boutique managers who’ve been around for quite some time, and Lisa is one of them. I would recommend you guys to go look for her for eyebrow trimmings or makeovers :)

I’m taking the chance to do a little self-promotion because everyone that i’ve showed this magazine to said that i look very different in most of the pictures. This section talks about the autumn/winter trends for this year, which i think i’ve mentioned before.

Would appreciate it if you guys checked it out. Tell me what do you think. Do i look different or not?

iFeel Photoshoot: Lips

Ah another photoshoot; stuff that you people like to see ;)

Last week i had a shoot with iFeel again. The last shoot we did was about eyelashes; this time, it was about lips.

I wasn’t really feeling it when Jet told me that the shoot is focused on lips cause frankly speaking, i don’t think i have the right lips for the job. Sadly i’m not blessed with nice shapely full lips.. i want! :(

But oh well, got job just snag it la right!

I had a late night’s sleep the day before the shoot so i had terrible eyeSACKS. But i guess it’s nothing photoshop can’t fix! *heehee*

When i arrived at the studio, i spotted something so beautiful and holy i just wanna grab it and rub it on my face.

img_1651

It was the M.A.C lookbook for fall/winter 2010.

I knew i needed to get my hands on it. So i sat down with this book in my hand while i got hair and make up done. It was such an honour to view this book. It’s released exclusively for media only.

And lucky you cause i’m sharing some of it! :)

It’s really hard to focus and read the writings in the book when there’s so many stimulating visuals in it.

But the trends are more or less about velvet red lips, shadows and shadings that you can’t see where it ends, and colours that resembles minks that are worn during fall/winter. There are also several looks with stained red lips for a more neutral look.

The book is definitely every makeup lover’s want because it not only describes the concept behind the looks, but also the products and techniques used.

Here are some of my favourite looks.

img_1656

This look is one of my favourites because it involves the lipstick colour that i’m planning to get. The lip colour is a combination of M.A.C’s Myth and Siss.

Myth is like one of the holy lip colours of M.A.C. The colour is beautiful; it’s described as a pale muted peachy-beige colour. And as for Siss, i haven’t heard of it before but it’s described as a muted golden beige colour.

I’m definitely adding Myth into my lipstick list and i’m planning to get it via M.A.C’s return program :)

img_1657

This look is from the mink concept.

The model just looks so pretty in the browns. I have a liking for this picture, it’s like one of those pictures that makes you wanna stare at with dreamy eyes.

*dreamy eyes*

There’s also a glossy finish to the eyeshadow. I guess it’s also part of the trend.

img_1658

You can see where the eyeshadow starts for this look, but not where it ends. Now this is what i call power blending!

I also have a liking for smokey purples. I’ve been wanting to try it out but i haven’t found the right colour yet.

Okay back to work!

Totally failed to capture the glossy finish on the eyeshadow. We used clear lipgloss

Last look; pink lips

I didn’t gain much from this shoot besides having the chance to take a look at the M.A.C lookbook. I had a lipstick phase and i think it’s passing already. I’m more of a nude/pink person, and the shoot was more towards bold colours.

Hope the pictures turn out nice!

New Faces

photo-on-2010-06-07-at-1712

Crappers. I swear the new laptop and camera is bringing out the vanity in me. Taken with Photobooth earlier this the evening after a shoot for Sisters magazine.

Anyway, today’s shoot was great. It was at the homiest studio – Blink Studio. I also learnt a couple of things from the people i worked with today. It’s amazing how much we can learn from the people we meet. Oh and not to mention, we wrapped the set up pretty quickly. Everyone worked very well with each other :)

So the products used for the shoot are from Clio, a Korean cosmetics brand. I haven’t heard of this brand before, but their products are pretty good.

img_0684

That’s their mineral blush. It comes with a very pretty packaging too. The floral design is drawn by a Korean artist. They also have this thing called the camouflage cream.

Apparently a lot of celebrities are using it and it’s very popular in Korea too. It looks super natural when applied on and best of all, it’s water-proof. Leslie the make up artist said celebrities use this a lot, and they can even go swimming and come out still looking perfect. In fact, better! Cause the camouflage cream will look more natural after perspiring.

This is Leslie.

img_0686

It was so nice talking to him. Leslie travels to a lot of places like USA, Russia, Korea, Japan and whatnots for work. His wife is from Japan, and she and the kids are living at Japan.

Since Leslie was such an experienced person, i took the opportunity to ask him about the foreign culture and the places he visited. Well, he said that Russians are very beautiful people because they have very good skin and prominent bone structures. He even said that if they could speak English fluently, they would be like super maju haha!

As for the country Korea, the in thing now seems to be cat-eye look. So we included the smokey cat-eye look for the shoot. It’s very popular in Korea, all the girls are walking around with the cat-eye look! Koreans looove make up, but they don’t overdo it. They like it natural.

And as for Japan.. i guess it’s pretty obvious. The girls there are exactly like what you see in Japanese magazines. They’re super fashionable, inside out.

Leslie told me about a whole bunch of other stuff too, but it’s just too much to say it here!

Leslie and Wesley*

Apparently, they’re not associated. I know cause i asked, hahaha!

Wesley* is such a genius when it comes to hair. His name has a * cause i’m not too sure on how to spell his name. He forgot to give me his name card :(

Anyway, i totally loved the way he curled my hair and i really want to learn how he does it! I observed him as he was doing my hair, trying to pick up his technique. I tried replicating it when i got home but my result was kinda meh.

Korean?

img_07171

HAHAHA damn thick skin! Super perasan i know, was just messing. Ignore me please.

Next, pictures from my previous shoot! It was a couple of weeks ago; for iFeel magazine :)

That’s me right there. I wouldn’t have known that the ad was out if it wasn’t for Kel Li. Grab a copy of Cleo’s December issue and try to spot me in one of the pages if you wanna see how the rest of the picture looks like. This is the outcome of the shoot i did couple months back for Kleenex :)
