Mika Holiday by Shu Uemura, again

Yesterday was the last day for the Beauty Expo in Sunway Pyramid. And it was also the last Shu Uemura demo i did for the Beauty Expo.

Although i do hope that it won’t be my last contribution to Shu Uemura :)

So what i normally do during a demo is..

I just sit there while the make up artist does his or her work!

Make up artist of the day was Lavynya. I personally think that she’s the nicest Shu Uemura staff. I met her for the first time last Sunday for the previous demo. She treated me as though she knew me for a long time. Nice! :)

So if anyone wants to get something from Shu Uemura, go look for Lavynya at the One Utama branch for assistance.

You know how intimidating-looking those people working at cosmetic stores can be, right :x

So the look of the day was called Angelic Glamour. I got my hair sprayed red for this look. Not to mention i had to wear a hairband too, hee :)

The colours don’t really show here but it’s gold and a little bit of turquoise eye shadow from one of the Mika Holiday eyeshadow pallet. Plus mini red false eyelashes.

I kinda like them lashes, but too bad we can’t really wear those on a normal basis.

U.O.X Play @ Capsquare

Last Saturday, Cai Jin and i went on a journey to KL. It was her first time driving to KL but there was nothing to fear cause she had the “best” navigator with her- me! :D

We went to Capsquare to set up a booth at the U.O.X Play to sell off some clothes. Surprisingly, two of us managed to unload all the props from the car to the market place in just one shot.

Both of us couldn’t leave the booth to go walk around the market place until Ernest came. He helped us out by taking care of the booth.

Thanks! :)

The place wasn’t bad at all, in my opinion. Environment was nice and colourful with lots of graffiti around.

I kinda like the smell of aerosols..

Nice booth set up by Mimpi :)

Chocolate and sprinkle coated cake on a stick

It was a long day. But we weren’t totally bored. Cause it’s quite fun to watch all kind of interesting characters and personalities passing by our booth.

Not to mention the unexpected visit from the Lekalino..

Hoi, that’s my chocolate! :)

Mika Holiday by Shu Uemura

I did another demo for Shu Uemura at Sunway Pyramid today.

It’s almost similar to the previous one i did. However, this time the demo is for the Beauty Expo going on at Sunway Pyramid’s new wing.

It was my first time going to Sunway Pyramid’s Shu Uemura. And i saw another Viktor & Rolf for Shu Uemura false eyelashes there. It’s very pretty, so i just had to share it.

I looked it up and this pair is called Wing Couture.

The Tokyo Lash bar

Like what i said before, Shu Uemura is well knowned for their artistic false eyelashes. No doubt.

Anyways, they had a demo to promote Shu Uemura’s new holiday collection. I got to know more about their products because i keep hearing people talking about it.

Reknowned Japanese photographer and film director Mika Ninagawa teamed up with Shu Uemura to form the Mika Holiday Collection.

This is only part of the collection.

The full collection is already available at Shu Uemura outlets. I gotta admit that they do look kinda pretty. The packaging are all very colourful and floral-like.

Same thing, different day again tomorrow :)

For Shu Uemura

I dunno why i keep falling sick nowadays. It’s like after i recover from an illness, i’ll fall sick again after a few days.

And i’m currently sick now!

ERGHHH! Why so weak?!

-_-;;

Anyway, i did some sort of demo for Shu Uemura a couple of weeks ago at One Utama along with 2 other girls, Monique and Seri. Didn’t take much pictures because i wasn’t feeling very well that day. Felt horrible, in fact.

But the girls were very nice and friendly. They made sure i was okay and all :)

From what i know, Shu Uemura is well known for their eyelash curlers and artistic false eyelashes. I’ve yet to try out some of their products like their eye liner and cleansing oil.

I’ve heard and read about how good they are so i’m a bit curious!

My look for the day

The props

I didn’t get to take a picture of the finished look cause when i was done, the first thing i wanted to do is remove the make up and go straight home :S

However, i’m doing another demo this weekend and hopefully i’ll feel better by then. I’m wondering how is it gonna be and whether do i get to see the same girls again.

We’ll see about that..

October appearances

I killed two magazines in the month of October. Now that’s what i call productive, ha! :)

My section in this month’s issue of iFeel is about shopping at M.A.C. I wrote about this almost 2 months ago.

Please note that i did not say anything bout wanting Denise Keller’s look. Same goes to Annie.

We came, did what we had to do, then left.

As for Sister’s magazine, my section is about products by L’Oreal. The two page spread includes a step-by-step guide on achieving the look and a big ass picture of myself.

Feels a bit awkward to see such a huge picture of myself though -_-;;

Anyways, the make up artist for that day was Monica. She’s amazing cause she knows what she wants. Much thanks to her for directing the shoot. The picture wouldn’t turn out decent if it wasn’t for her :)

More things to look forward to in the near future! I’ll update on that when the time is right.

Hmm..

Viva flea market at Monash Uni

The Viva flea market turned out better than i thought, heee.

I thought it would be outdoor under the hot sun like The Curve’s flea market, but instead this one is indoors. Well, sorta. We had shade and occasional air conditioning.

What i meant by occasional air conditioning is that whenever the sliding doors from the block nearby opens, the cold air from the building will rush out. Yeap.. Monash got power air conditioning :O

However, the size of the flea market was rather small. But it was alright.

Overall, it was fun! Got a bit bored at times but at least i had company, right :)

I present you the Dolly Sins booth!

I LOVE love love the corset top, argh! No idea why people don’t dig it, haha! Maybe it’s too naughty looking for them, hmm..

Even if i work for Dolly Sins, doesn’t mean i can’t go shop at other stalls! After all it is a flea market. How can i resist! I mean, how can WE resist!

Hugs and Jellyfishes

My Favouritees!

I bought 2 tees from them, heee!

The very well decorated Glampot

FrouFrou

I wanted to get something from FrouFrou but i just couldn’t decide which one to get. So i just passed. Nothing to lose anyway cause i can shop on their online site, hehe.

So that’s about it!

We sold quite a number of stuff. So some of you might miss out on some of the good stuff, heee! Especially these gladiators!

Only size fours left, i think. Hmm..

Dolly Sins will be updating soon so do visit the site, alright :)

This is gonna be another M.A.C related post.

What, so soon?!

Yeap, pure coincidence :)

This time it’s for iFeel magazine and the location was at M.A.C Pavilion. The pictures taken were either out of focus or too grainy. Which makes it very hard to edit. And i’m lazy!

Can’t reveal much in here either or else it defeats the purpose of looking forward to the yet to be published issue. That’s the way how things go :S

So it’ll be just sneak peaks, alright :)

Annie and myself

Annie.. Jamie.. we rhyme together! Another coincidence, hmm..

I’m not gonna say which month’s issue!

Let me check whether is it nice in the magazine first then i’ll announce it here, hehe! I know, very kiasu-like :O

Now back to being a regular college student :)

Autumn winter trend by M.A.C

Last night a make up academy had their first annual gathering at a bistro located at Taman Desa. They invited M.A.C to do a make up demonstration on the latest autumn winter trend.

So they sent Yokoe to do the demonstration and i as the doll.

I’m trying my best to avoid using the word model because i don’t consider myself as one. I dunno. Sounds so.. whatever -_-;;

I was literally playing doll last night anyway :)

Moving on.

Yokoe really has a hugeee collection of cosmetics. I don’t think any of you can imagine the size of the amount of cosmetics she owns. Even i couldn’t! o_o

And they are ALL from M.A.C.

Her make up stash is so huge that where ever she goes for a photo shoot or event as the make up artist, she’ll bring along her trolley luggage with all her cosmetics inside.

Here’s a couple of pictures to show you what i mean.

Liners. Brows, eyes and lips.

Foundation

And this doesn’t include all of the other products she owns!

Think about how much that luggage of hers worth! o_o

Okay. So the look we did is one of the looks from the autumn winter trend called Artsy. She told me that this time the look is not like those beauty looks but more of an artistic type.

Some people say putting on make up is like painting and the canvas is your face.

Yokoe preped me up with base and smokey eyes first and she left the “artistic” part to be done during the demo.

Very much like the name itself, Artsy, the way of application didn’t have to be perfect. Cause it’s art!

With the one and only, Yokoe

Yokoe’s. Woops, random, haha!

Demo time!

“Dun wan!!”

Even the lip colour was applied in a very messy yet artsy way

This concludes the end of last night demo by M.A.C :)

Many asked whether did i get any free products for this. Unfortunately, no. But instead i’m getting paid by cheque.

HOWEVER!

I did get to walk away with a pair of M.A.C false lashes :)

And more to come! ;)

M.A.C Gold Fever @ Sunway Pyramid

Hi!

Last night’s event was pretty intense until i ended up working “overtime”!

I was informed that my job should be done by evening, but it turns out that Yokoe had a lot of interviews to do so i had to be there for her. Imagine Yokoe explaining the Gold Fever look without a model, pretty clueless, right?

Right.

So i went to the store at 2.30 p.m for preparations. Make up was done by none other than the one and only, Yokoe-chan, and hair was done by a professional, Cindy.

Ken the photographer was there to take step-by-step shots of the make up process. He also helped me take these shots for me using my camera! :)

Didn’t take the whole process though. But it’s good!

The hairdo

Candid! I can’t see my eyes! :O

Putting on the fake eyelashes

Random! Would you just look at the amount of stuff on the table?!

Final look! :)

The guests started arriving around 6.30 p.m. It got really crowded later on. The store was a little bit hot cause of the amount of body heat! A number of media interviewed Yokoe while i laze around the store.

Eh, but seriously the whole night i was quite free. All i had to do was walk around the store and show people the work of art that Yokoe created. Then smile for anyone who wants to take pictures, like the photographers and guests.

Then when Yokoe needs me for her interview, she will call me over and show me to the interviewers. I’m like her doll lah, literally!

They had catering services there by Italianese. The cocktail food and desserts looked great.

BUT I WASN’T ALLOWED TO EAT ON THE JOB!

Oh the horror! I had lunch, then chocolate cream and a chocolate walnut cookie from Starbucks for tea time, but that’s not gonna last me til night, right! I didn’t have dinner! I couldn’t!

I got hungry half way during the event. Although i’m naturally “anorexic” thin, i still get hungry wan hor cause i’m human just like you perfect people.

So i stole a bite of some cocktail food, and i got caught by Deric, my job manager. And he told me i’m not suppose to eat on the job, but i can drink.

.. ANYWAY!

Like i said, i was quite free. So i took some pictures around the shop.

This is outside the store before the guests arrived

After the guests arrived :O

Foundation and concealers for the face

Colours for the lips

Plushglass lip gloss

Dazzleglass. I LOVE lip glosses!

Waiter boys! ;)

Okay, hold up for a second there. See those waiter boys?

I took a look at Yokoe’s paperwork and their actual outfit for the event is metallic gold singlet with matching hot shorts!

Hot. Shorts. Guys.

Haha! Thank God they changed it to long pants! They also had matching gold Converse shoes :)

Anyway, last night was my first time working in an event with lots of media. Photographers and TV stations, whoa. It was worth it!

Not to mention the feeling of getting to self-pick my free products! I waited for Yokoe to finish her interviews so that she can help me out with the products.

I picked 3 products. Although the number sounds small, but i know i picked the right ones. Because 2 out of 3 were expensive and the kind that you wouldn’t wanna spend money on cause it hurts if you do, know what i mean.

Total M.A.C products i got in 2 days, from yesterday and today.

Fix+ and gentle eye and lip make up remover. A number of make up artists i worked with before uses them so i thought it’ll be a good idea to get them

Dazzleglass in Bare Necessity. Yokoe picked this colour for me

Bonus, i got to take home the lashes! :)

From today. Eye brow pencil, 217 blending brush and 188 small duo fibre face brush

Again, a number of make up artists used those brushes, and they’re really good. It’s also recommended by one of the make up artists and M.A.C.

Got these items off discount today at Mid Valley!

So..

M.A.C whore + six NEW M.A.C products = One happy M.A.C whore!

Yeap. Not ashamed to admit, some more. Tired of denying. But don’t be so blunt either la, okay. Spare me a break :)

By the time i was done with work, it was already 10. Reached home and took a freaking long bath. It w
as the longest bath i ever took!

My hair was CRAZY HARD to straighten out! It was teased up so much and sprayed with hair spray. I spent like say 40 minutes in the shower and 15 minutes just combing my hair with my fingers to straighten it.

Standing in the shower for 15 minutes. Just doing my hair and adding conditioner to my hair before i can even start shampooing. TIRING!

Then i had my dinner around 12. Bleh!

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading! Now here are the details to yesterday’s make up look!
