Thanks Bobo for coming over to look for me! It was her first time visiting Barsonic and she came all here all the way from the other side alone too.

ASOT600KL x FMFA2013

Now that the big twin events are over, it’s time to look back at them pictures from A State of Trance and Future Music Festival Asia.

I had quite a good weekend myself because i didn’t feel completely trashed after everything was over. Sure i was tired and all, but i’ve had worst aftermaths before. I think it’s mainly because we stayed over at a really nice hotel nearby so it wasn’t that taxing.

We arrived the venue at the perfect time. We had enough time to look for the rest of the group and stock up on drinks before W&W’s set, which personally is the only set i was looking forward to. I even held my pee in for their entire set.

Needless to say, they didn’t disappoint!

The reception was horrible for the entire night, but it must’ve been fate to bump into the ladyfriend! We went on the ferris wheel together :D

As if i didn’t take enough pictures during ASOT, i took even less pictures on this day. On another note, i was really looking forward to The Prodigy!

One Last Tour

First outdoor party to kick-off year 2013 and i’m having mixed feelings about it. Although it’s great to see Swedish House Mafia live, the whole event get-up makes me think twice about whether or not the night was truly awesome.

It was practically drizzling the whole night and i personally don’t appreciate a wet outdoor party. In fact, i absolutely hate getting wet in rain. With that being said, i stuck with my rain poncho pretty much the whole of that night. Damn.

I don’t think i have much to say about this one so i’ll just let the pictures work their magic.

But i somehow managed to mabuk and have a good time that night. All thanks to my dear friend, vodka.

My Sister’s Hens Night

Now that my sister is finally married, i guess it’s time to blog about my sister’s hens night! It’s been a long wait, i know. I’m actually can’t wait to blog about her wedding too, but i figured that i should get the hens night done with first cause after all, wouldn’t you like to know what we did? ;D

So anyway, as sister of the bride and maid-of-honour, it is my duty to plan my sister’s hens night. And since we have already decided to celebrate it at the club, there was honestly nothing much to plan!

I’ll have to admit, most of the things were done last minute. But thanks to my incredible ability to perform well under pressure (ahem) and suggestions on where to get certain items from some friends, i was pretty much able to get everything done within a day!

I first started with a few simple items that can be found in a mall. I got the bride’s tiara and bridesmaids hairbands from Mid Valley. Then, i bought the rest of the party stuff such as games and props from Balloon Buzz in Bangsar.

There wasn’t much choices in terms of props for bachelorette parties, but i still bought pretty much everything they had in the shop. From activity card games to pink furry handcuffs.

To add to the party prop collection, one of the bridesmaids bought my sister some kinky stuff all the way from London.

See what i tell you bout not having enough choices? We don’t get to find these kind of stuff here in KL, don’t we?

And what’s a party without balloons! :D

The day of the hens night (which was a Friday) was a very hectic one from the start right to the very end. And since i was working part-time then, it really drained the energy out of me. But since it was all for my sister, it was worth it :)

After a whole day of work and then preparations (like picking up the balloon bouquet as they have to be “fresh” and helping my sister doll up) it was time to get to it! We really didn’t waste any time. The moment we arrived to the club and settled down, we ordered our drinks and announced that there was a hens night going on.

We started by of course, crowning the bride-to-be. Pageant style.

And everything pretty much escalated from here. You’ll get what i mean soon enough.

My sister is wearing a cut-out ballerina dress from Miss Selfridge. For deets about my outfit, click here :)

A glow-in-the-dark penis whistle.

I think whistles are fun in parties. Not penis-shaped ones in particular, but whistles in general. Whistles will always remind me of that scene from White Chicks :D

Activity cards really come in handy during hens night parties. We were sorting out good and bad cards before starting our game. But what you didn’t know is that we only managed to play one card because the girls were starting to get a little too drunk (´・`)

“Cock Toss. Toss one off with this inflatable cock hoopla!”

Scratch-a-Dare cards. Quick and easy. Suitable for drunk and chaotic situations.

There’s actually a lot more pictures, but they’re mostly of my sister and her other bridesmaids wrecking havoc around the club. As for me, i was being the guardian most of the time since i was the designated driver and i was dead tired. My sister continued to party until past 4am, that’s when i had to escort the girls out before they get too drunk.

Better end this post with a decent picture of us!

I never thought i’d do it but here i am, making an update on a working day. I hate to say this but working really does drain the energy out of you. God, i sound like such an old fart. And this is not even my real job!

I dare not imagine how my blog will end up once i start working for real. But come to think of it, i don’t think it’ll be as bad as working in retail. I mean, at least you get the weekends off if you’re working an office job. When you’re in retail, you have to work almost everyday including weekends, even more so if it’s in a mall.

So anyway, i made a decision to go catch Showtek at Zouk last Friday. It’s been a while since i stepped into a club and even more so since i started working retail.

And since i’m a fan of quick updates, well…

Where’s Mario?

Mario x Luigi!

So get this.

I spent the whole day at work, standing and serving customers, for 8 hours. Then, i leave work at around 10.30pm and reach home by 11 to super slut up real quick and head to the club. By the time the night was over and all, i was in bed at 5.30am.

The next day, i had to wake up at 10.30am to get ready for my afternoon shift. IT WAS HARD.

But do i regret it?

Nope. Sometimes we gotta decide whether some things are worth the squeeze. Sacrificing my precious resting time for a night out like that was definitely worth it cause i had so much fun.

Hey, better abuse your youth while you still have it, right!

Bangkok // Aug ’12

Earlier during the year, we found out that Sensation White was coming to Asia. Being one of the most legendary music events that originated from Europe, we knew that we just had to go for it.

Fortunately for us, the nearest country to us that Sensation will be making its stop was at Bangkok, Thailand. Ah… Bangkok. It’s the one place that i’ve visited more frequently than any other place outside of Malaysia.

So we bought our flight tickets and booked our hotels the moment our tickets for Sensation were confirmed and waited for August to arrive.

When August finally arrived, it was party time.

I’ve never bumped into so many familiar faces at the airport before. There were so many Malaysians flying over to Bangkok just for Sensation! It’s quite a nice feeling to see familiar faces on the same plane, traveling to the same place and knowing that everyone’s ready to party. It makes you feel more excited, you know?

I had a moment of self-reflection when i was filling up my visa. Now that i’ve graduated for college, i’m technically unemployed since i’m not a student anymore. Ah… the look of judgement on Hoongmao’s face as i wrote that.

Our arrival at Bangkok was delayed due to the weather. Unknowing to us, there were dark clouds hovering across the city and we had to circle around for quite a while until we could land safely. Not to mention the turbulence that we experienced.

We were greeted with a wet Bangkok when we arrived. It rained a lot during the evening while we were there, which was quite a bummer. But nonetheless, we made things work.

We all decided to take the train from the airport to the city to avoid the evening traffic. It was a good idea initially, but it turned out to be a little troublesome when we discovered the amount of stairs we had to go up and down while carrying our huge luggages. Well, not we but more like the boys  (n˘v˘•)

Everyone got a prepaid the moment we touched down. Aaand this is what happens

We stayed at Novotel Fenix together with Ningku and Charmander. It was a familiar place in Bangkok to return to for me and Hoongmao because it’s our second time staying at Novotel Fenix.

Our first time staying at Novotel Fenix was during our trip to Bangkok last year, which i have edited some of the pics from the trip but still yet to blog about. Ahem (n˘v˘•)

Anyway, we had dinner at a street stall that was just a minute’s walk away from the hotel. This is like the spot to go if you’re staying at Novotel Fenix and are too lazy to search far and wide for a place to eat.

Thai salad and tom yum soup

Fried pork and barbecue pork

Simply eaten with a packet of sticky rice. Simple and delicious. I absolutely loved the fried pork. I was particularly quiet during the meal because i was having a moment of silence for the delicious food. Mmm mmm! (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

For some reasons, i was totally exhausted when we got back to the hotel room after dinner. We were supposed to head out for some drinks after taking a disco nap, but i just decided to stay behind and sleep while the panda heads out with the boys.

I remember Hoong was like, “You come to Bangkok… to sleep.”

>:(

Well considering the fact that we will be experiencing consecutive days of partying starting next day onwards, i personally think it’s not such a bad idea to rest for one night lor. Right or not?

Right. So anyway, being in Bangkok is all about eating, drinking and shopping. And in addition if you’re with friends, partying. But let’s talk about eating.

There’s no way you can go hungry at Bangkok. The only time you’re hungry is when you slept too long at the hotel and have had nothing to eat yet. Almost everyday, Hoongmao and i will get our first snack of the day from this little stall just a couple of steps away from the hotel on the way to the train station.

It’s kinda like lok lok where you have all these food stuff on a stick. You pick what you want and hand it over to the goodman who will cook it over charcoal for you.

We always go for sausages. Two sausages – one chicken and one pork – each. Me and Hoongmao used to share one serving, but now we just get our own cause we’re greedy like that.

We then get to choose which of the two kinds of chili sauce we want to bathe our food in. We usually opt for both sauces cause why pick one when you can have both, right?

Who would’ve thought that the simplest things can taste so delicious.

And that’s our kickstart snack for you! We would usually then head to some place else for a solid lunch. In this case, we had some noodles from a stall at the alley beside the hotel.

Thai style wantan mee, to be more precise

We didn’t do much except meeting up with some people to talk about business that day. And by “we” i meant me escorting the panda to meet some people (◡‿◡)

Later that night, the boys had a gig at a fancy club in Sukhumvit.

Ermahgerd lerverls…

Charmander looked absolutely lovely and ladylike that night.

Imagine my thoughts when we both came out from our hotel rooms (our rooms are just right opposite each other) and i saw that she was dressed up fancy and all while i… was just wearing a cropped top and a black bodycon skirt, looking all slutty and shizz. Damn.

Weren’t we going for the slut look tonight?!

Foofoo in his ketupat shirt

For some reasons, the club ran out of whisky glasses and we had to use the tall ones. Look at us in that picture. It’s like we were drinking iced Chinese tea!

Sonia / Jean / Val

The girls really know how to party. Needless to say, we all drink drank drunk.

I’m just amazed that i didn’t wake up with a massive hangover the next day. I even managed to go shopping with the girls until the evening. We had to do some last minute shopping for our outfits to Sensation because the one that we brought wasn’t working out.

Initially we were supposed to dress up as sailors, but due to the fear of Sensation’s strict “white only” dress code we decided not to as the costume had quite a bit of blue.

So this is us all dressed up for Sensation!

Not bad huh considering the fact that i bought my entire outfit on that very same day. I’m just glad that they all fit me.

Redbull vodka for the journey

We experienced quite a bit of traffic outside the venue, but once we got there it was all smooth sailing. The event was very organized. We were surprised to see that there was no horrible cues at the ticket collection booths.

Mao~

Booze was considerably cheap for a rave

It was truly an experience. A world-class event. Everything was excellently planned from crowd management to performances. The location that they picked to host Sensation was also a good one.

It was the first time i ever went to a music event and not sweat! And since it was an indoor stadium, the air conditioning was cool all night long and there are seats for you whenever you get tired.

The major plus point would be the fact that the toilets are very near and there’s not one time the toilet ran out of toilet paper! And everyone knows how to piss!! It truly makes me happy when i walk into a clean cubicle and not have the toilet seat drenched in piss. Amazing.

The only setback for Sensation was the lineup. It was decent, but i wished we had better acts. Nonetheless, it was still one hell of an experience.

The following day was our last day at Bangkok. We all woke up extremely late and took things really slow. Imagine having your first meal at around 5pm.

We had our first meal at this place in Siam Paragon. Apparently the shark’s fin here is absolutely delicious but yeah yeah i know we’re not supposed to have shark’s fin cause it’s cruel and all. We didn’t have any and weren’t planning to, if you must know.

They have other things here that are worth eating too.

Crab meat fried rice / Crab claw with noodles / Veggies

Ermahgerd…

I know it’s not Thai food and you’re supposed to have Thai food when you’re at Thailand but what the hell. This place is worth visiting and i reckon you should once you’re done with exploring Thai food.

The Rocky Road

I knew i was going to have dessert at Cream & Fudge Factory the moment i saw it while walking pass it earlier. I imprinted myself on it. It was the chosen one. And i was right.

Right for making the right choice cause it was so damn good. It’s such a torture to blog about things (especially food) that you’ve had and can’t have right now. Torture, i say!

Later that night we had dinner with some friends at this place called…

There were condoms…. condoms everywhere.

The amount of food we had here is just too much so i’m gonna leave that out. They were all delicious but i’m just gonna save you from looking at too many food pics.

Check out Hoong’s artsy shot

And that’s bout it. This pretty much sums up what we did at Bangkok this time. Food, drinks, food, drinks, party party. Not so much on shopping but i did manage to get a couple of stuff, which i will be sharing soon :)
